fairy dress pattern

Fairy dress and hair hat

Yarn;  2 rolls of red heart super saver glow worm 7oz
Hook;  H for top part of dress
Hook :  J for skirt
Size approx 3t
Length 21-23 inches
Width top of dress 21-22 inches

*To change size follow clothing measurement chart in link below, changing length of chain to length you need. I did chain of 68 to make it 21" for 3t size. Also you will need to either increase or decrease the amount of petals you make to match chain size.http://pattern.stringcodes.com/size-std.html

Dress  (H  Hook)
Chain 68  should be 21 -22 inches
Join with slip stitch to first chain (careful not to twist chain)

row 1:
Chain 2 ( does not count as a stitch used to join without hole showing)
Half double crochet in joining stitch and each chain around 68 hdc
Join with slip stitch to top of chain 2

Row 2 - 40 or til  piece measures 17-18 inches

Chain 2 (does not count as first stitch now and throughout)
Half double crochet in each stitch around join with skip stitch to top of chain 2  ( 68 half double crochets)
Finish off  (this will be top of dress)

Skirt ( J hook)
Make 20 Petals
use 2 strands of yarn held together
With J hook

Chain 16
Insert hook 2nd chain from hook  single crochet in this chain
Single crochet in next chain
Half double crochet in next 2 chain
Double crochet in next 2 chains
Triple crochet in next 4 chains
Double crochet in next 2 chains
Half double crochet in next chain
Single crochet next chain
3 single crochet next chain

Working back up opposite side of  beginning chain
Single crochet in next chain (closest one on other side)
Half double crochet in next chain
Double Crochet in next 2 chains
Triple crochet in the next 4 chains
Double crochet in next 2 chains
Half double crochet next 2 chains
Single crochet in next chain
2 single crochets in last chain
Join with slip stitch to first stitch
Leave longer tail for sewing

Holding 2 petals together with wrong side facing each other sew/whip stitch or single crochet  first 5-6 stitches together , leaving part of leaves open for flip flop look on skirt, also shows the petal shape .

Take next petal and each petal after and sew/whip stitch or single crochet it to the other side of  leaves you just sewed/whipped stitched or single crocheted tog eventually making them into a circle

Once all leaves are attached sew/whip stitch or single crochet first and last leaf together to form a circle. Fasten off

To make it easier to sew to bottom of dress, you can attach yarn to top of leaf circle and do a row of single crochet n  fasten off..

Attaching skirt to bottom of dress 2 options

Option 1
To make straight thin shirt Sew/whip stitch top leaf circle to bottom of chain 68 from dress

Option 2 ( one in photo)
To make it puff out more you can fold top of leaf circle over a little towards inside of the circle and single crochet the crease of the fold to bottom of dress rather then top of circle. The ridge and thicker crease is in the inside of dress but makes the tutu puff look

Once skirt is attached
I took a piece of yarn and tied  leaves to each other basically in the middle of leaf,  so if leaves flip flop around only bottom of leaf flops it keeps undies from showing...

Straps for holding dress up
On top of dress attach yarn to front of dress, you will be doing this twice so evenly space them.
Once attached chain 30 fasten off
Attach other side chain 30 fasten off.

Weave in all ends
Enjoy
Hello ,
Welcome to my new blog site. Here is a fairy dress I created. This is my first pattern that I created and I can honestly saw I'm I impressed how it turned out. I wanted to share it, so all the little girls that love fairies can have one and be their own little fairy. I made this up as I went along, so I believe it is written correctly, if you find a mistake please let me know.

This pattern is written for size 3t , if you need a bigger or smaller size change the length of the chain by the measurements on this sizing chart. I did a chain of 68 to reach the 21" it says for 3t. So chain should be length of size you need. You will have to make either more or less peteals to match chain size.
